Enabling Javascript in Older Browsers

To enable Javascript in the some of the older browsers follow the instructions below:

Internet Explorer 4.x or 5.x (Windows):

  1. Click the Tools menu.
  2. Click Internet Options…
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click the Internet symbol (a globe).
  5. Click the Custom Level… button.
  6. In the Settings list, scroll down to Scripting.
  7. Under Active Scripting, click either Enable or Disable.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Yes in the Warning! message box.
  10. Click OK.

Internet Explorer 4.x or 5.x (Mac):

  1. Click the Edit menu.
  2. Click Preferences…
  3. In the scrolling list, click Web Browser so that you can see the bulleted items beneath it.
  4. Click Security Zones.
  5. In the Zone: pop-up menu, select Internet Zone.
  6. Select Custom.
  7. Click the Settings… button.
  8. In the Internet Zone dialog box, scroll down to Scripting.
  9. Under Scripting, set Execute scripts to either Enable or Disable.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click OK.

Netscape 4.x or 6.x (Windows or Mac):

  1. Click the Edit menu.
  2. Click Preferences…
  3. In the Category list, click Advanced.
  4. To the right of the list, click “Enable JavaScript” to add or remove the tick.
  5. Click OK.

Netscape 3.x (Windows):

  1. Click the Options menu.
  2. Click Network Preferences…
  3. In the Preferences dialog box, click the Languages tab.
  4. Click the check box to produce a tick next to “Enable JavaScript”. Click again to remove the tick and disable support.
  5. Click OK.

Netscape 2.x (Windows):

  1. Click the Options menu.
  2. Click Security Preferences…
  3. In the Preferences dialog box, click the General tab.
  4. Click the check box to remove a tick next to “Disable JavaScript”. Click again to add a tick and disable support.
  5. Click OK.
